PROJECT: Editing of the Intervention Plan for Artificial Avalanche Detachment along the slopes upstream of the state road through the Foscagno Pass

OBJECTIVE: Evaluation of the intervention limits to be used for the management of the road as part of the reclamation operations for the preventive safety of the infrastructure.
DESCRIPTION: On behalf of the Municipality of Livigno, the PIDAV was drafted with the aim of analysing and evaluating the problem of safety management, with reference to avalanche aspects, of the section of the Foscagno State Road 301 (SS301) between Località Foppa and the hamlet of Trepalle.
Alpsolut provided insight into the avalanche hazard exposure of the road section for which risk mitigation aimed at road management is needed. The study delved into the guidelines of snow monitoring actions, artificial detachment and control of unstable snow masses, and road section closure/opening operations with the aim of operational management.
