PROJECT<\/strong>: creation of a system for storing snow accumulated during the winter season and covering it with geothermal sheets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

STAKEHOLDERS:<\/strong> Comune di Livigno, athletes and cross-country skiing enthusiasts, tourists, and citizens participating in summer events<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OBJECTIVE:<\/strong> to enable the conservation of \u201cwinter\u201d snow with the aim of reusing it for specific events during the summer season and to allow the early opening of the cross-country ski trail during the following autumn. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The snow is stored at the end of winter in the central plain of the village and covered first with sawdust and then with a geothermal sheet, which insulates it from the air temperature and reflects the sun’s rays. An initiative with significant ecological implications that involves covering and preserving snow, to prevent it from melting. Thanks to this project, it is possible to use snow from the Snowfarm for local summer events and to ensure an early start to the cross-country skiing season in October, thus achieving significant energy savings in the production of programmed snow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
